Pretilachlor 50% E.C.
Chhibaa (Pretilachlor 50% EC) is a broad-spectrum pre-emergence herbicide from the Chloroacetamide group that suppresses all types of weeds in rice. It is primarily absorbed by germinating shoots and secondarily by the roots, with translocation throughout the plant, leading to higher concentrations in the vegetative portions than in the reproductive regions. When applied to the soil or foliage of plants, Chhibaa is absorbed by the roots or through the leaves and then translocated within the plant. Once inside the plant, Chhibaa inhibits the action of the enzyme acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACCase), responsible for fatty acid synthesis. By inhibiting ACCase, Chhibaa disrupts the production of essential fatty acids required for the growth and development of the target plants. Without sufficient fatty acids, the plants are unable to form necessary cell membranes and other lipid-containing structures, leading to growth inhibition and eventual death.
